The Zhuzhang River Valley is known as the "Corridor of Ancient Architecture" and the "Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture". On both sides of the 50-kilometer-long river valley, there are eight national key cultural relic protection units, including Tianhai An and Yuanqi Temple, covering architectures from the Five Dynasties, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Among them, Longmen Temple is the most prominent, integrating ancient architectures of six dynasties in one temple. The Guanyin Hall of the Later Tang Dynasty in the temple is even the only example of the suspended gable roof architecture from the Tang Dynasty to the Five Dynasties. Most of these ancient buildings are unique in architectural form and craftsmanship, which are of great significance for the study of the history of ancient Chinese architecture. Yuanqi Temple, located on the ground of Fenghuang Platform, has its 900-year-old Song Dynasty Qinglong Pagoda and main hall, facing Luchuan. Built on the mountain with a platform, the temple and pagoda form a magnificent scenery. Together with the environment of Dayun Courtyard and other temples, it should be a model for the site selection and layout of ancient Chinese temples.
